London, September 04, 2006 : ESCP-EAP European School of Management today announced that Jean Louis Scaringella has stepped down as Dean of ESCP-EAP after seven years at the helm. He has been succeeded by Dr. Pascal Morand, a professor of Economics.

Dr. Pascal Morand is a recognized brand expert and a committed European. He brings his considerable expertise and leadership capabilities to ESCP-EAP at a time when European issues are high on the School’s agenda. According to Dr. Morand, “ESCP-EAP, with its five campuses in Europe, has a genuine calling to contribute to the development of personal skills and business expertise for the European marketplace. But over and above this, it has a duty as a European institution to contribute to the debate on the social, economic and even political future of the continent. It is one of the rare business schools to be in a position to do so. I relish the opportunity to guide the School in its European contribution which I see as a societal obligation to be embraced to the utmost.”

Announcing his departure, Jean Louis Scaringella said “I have dedicated the past 25 years at the CCIP to the management of business schools, first at HEC and CPA, then at ESCP-EAP. These have been eventful years during which French business schools have internationalised and become very competitive globally. I look forward to new and different challenges, at the same time I will continue to work with my colleagues in the world of business education. My successor has been carefully chosen to ensure the continued Europe-wide development of ESCP-EAP”.

ESCP-EAP European School of Management stands out in the business school industry for an innovative educational approach made possible by its cross-border campus infrastructure. With campuses in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid and Torino, ESCP-EAP has pioneered the concept of integrated cross-border, multicultural business education. One school established in 5 different national environments, developing leadership talent for organisations operating internationally and globally, it remains at the cutting edge of management education.
